Does doing good deeds get you into heaven? Why or why not?
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faitH--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast.
Acts 8:20
Peter answered: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!"
Well, how many good deeds do you have to do? For how long? Which deeds really count? There's no way to be sure you'll perform well enough before God this way.
This way doesn't work because we've all sinned, and God has already passed judgment on us all. We can't make up for what we've done wrong, just like a judge on earth can't accept your promise to do good if you are brought in for a crime. You must pay the price. Except that God has already sent someone to pay the price for you.
Jesus Christ, God's Son, came to die in your place. He suffered for your sins on the cross and died, bearing your blame to set you free. He was buried, then on the third day rose from the dead. Now if you know you are a sinner, and you will be punished for your sins, you can trust Jesus and He'll forgive you and give you the gift of righteousness for free. Your sins will be blotted out and you'll have a clean slate with God.
Does God want people to go to hell? Why or why not?
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1 Timothy 2:3-4
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
We know God doesn't want anyone to go to hell---because He paid a great price to keep us out! We've all sinned and justly deserve to be punished for offending a holy and righteous God. God created us to know Him and enjoy Him forever, in this life and the life to come. That life is called eternal life. Sin separates us from God, just like hurting your friend can cut off ties with each other.
God found a way to forgive our sins and prevent us from going to hell. What He did was unique. Jesus Christ, His Son, chose to suffer in your place. On the cross, God placed on Him all the sins of the world. He died in our place, was buried, then rose again. Now He offers eternal life to all who will believe in Him.
Does Jesus forgive our sins, and if so, what do we have to do?
Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord
Acts 16:30-31
He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
God wants to do much more thn forgive some sins. He wants to make you His child. God doesn't want to simply forgive sins, but save us from sin. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us from sin's punishment, dying in our place the death we deserve for sinning against a holy and righteous God. He also wants to save us from sin's power so you'll have strength to resist it and be holy as God is holy. He also came to save us from sin's corruption, for all that we think, plan, and do is corrupted by sin in us, ruining all our faculties so we can't please God at all.
Through faith in Jesus Christ, God can forgive and wipe away all your sins from birth to now. By believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for your sins, was buried and rose from the dead, you enter into a new life where you learn to walk with God daily. This is far more than sins forgiven. This is a whole new life with Him as Your Father and Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
Do you have eternal life? How do you know?
John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 5:12
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
The Bible says in John 3:16 that whoever believes in Him has eternal life. Also, Jesus said that knowing Himself and God is eternal life. As you go through life, do you tend to trust yourself and other people more than Jesus Christ? [let them answer] Do you trust your own strength and knowledge rather than lean on Jesus Christ? [let them answer]
Eternal life is having life with God at the center. He helps you. He teaches you. He gives you strength over sin. He gives you new reasons for living a holy life, because He is holy. Eternal life is knowing God, knowing that He loves you and wants you to make room for Him in your life because He is real and not a religion.
[Go over gospel with John 3:16.]
How do you get real joy and peace in this life?
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
1 Peter 1:8-9
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy
John 15:10-11
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
God created mankind. We are made in His image. He made us in a specific way. He is Lord, we are servants. He is teacher, we are students. He is commander, we are soldiers. He made us to be relate to Him and respond to Him. He commands, we obey, we find joy, because that's the arrangement God created for maximum joy. We know of times when we disobeyed our parents and felt miserable. We know what guilt feels like. That inward excuse-makiing we do when we try to justify what we do is a "tell," an indication that we did something wrong. We don't justify ourselves when we do the honorable thing, do we?
The Bible says we are sinners. Sinning is disobeying God. The payment for sinning is death. Where sin rules, we can't obey God. Jesus came to deal with our sin problem so we can get back to our right relationship with God, of obedience to Him.
[Give gospel presentation.]
If you were to die tonight, where would you go and why?
2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
Luke 16:22-23
The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
Is everyone a child of God?
John 1:12-13
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
Galatians 3:26
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith
Galatians 4:5
to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
John 8:44
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Genesis 1:26 (for background)
Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
All people have been made in the image of God. Only those who have been adopted into God's family are children of God. This is very important for those who want to go to heaven. Heaven is God's home, and as the Heavenly Father, only His children are welcome into His home to stay there. See John 1:12-13 above. You are not my child, so you can't stay in my home.
Jesus is the way to heaven, the door by which we enter in. We become children of God when we receive Jesus into our lives, when we believe in Him.
[explain Gospel and how we are saved, and part of that salvation is God adopting us as His children.]
Is Jesus dead or alive? Explain.
Revelation 1:18
I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
Is Jesus the only way to heaven?
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Jesus said, "I am the way." No one comes to the Father in heaven except through Jesus. Heaven is the Father's home. He has invited everyone to come and enter, but they must enter through the front door. Jesus is that door. He is the way in. Some say that way is too narrow. Yet it is broad enough that all may enter in. I have a home and a son. If my son invites a friend to the house, he can come in. You are invited to God's home, but the Son must bring you in. He is the way.
You can't come in by your good deeds or religion or morality. You can't enter into my home by any of these things either. You enter because you are my friend or family. I care about your relationship with me, not your accomplishments. Even so, God cares about your relationship with Him. He considers all of your deeds as worthless in making yourself fit for heaven.
To be fit for heaven, you deal with your sin, because that breaks the relationship with God. [Give gospel about Jesus dying for our sins to deal with it.]
Jesus said, "I am the _______, the _______, and the _______"
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Jesus is making an exclusive claim. He is the way. There is no other way to heaven. He is the truth. If you believe and trust in Him, you already believe the truth. He is the life. If you look for life anywhere but from Jesus, you will miss it completely.
Our sins keep us from heaven and the holy and righteous God who lives there. Jesus came to bridge the gap by dealing with our sins on the cross. [Share gospel of what it means for Jesus to die on the cross.]
Name 3 of the Ten Commandments
Do you understand the significance of the Ten Commandments? They help us see that we are sinners by breaking the laws. Have you ever lied? ... Have you ever stolen? ... Have you ever lusted after someone? ... Have you ever put something as more important than God in your life? ...
God is so good to give you eyes to appreciate the beauty of this earth, tongue to enjoy savory treats, and ears to hear wonderful music, and by breaking these laws, we show ourselves incredibly careless about God and His goodness. Breaking these laws help us see that we are separated from God and clueless about Him. Breaking these laws help us see our need of a Savior, because the payment for sinning is death, then separation from God forever.
But the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. [Share gospel of salvation]
Recite John 3:16. What does it mean?
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Take them through the verse phrase by phrase.] "For God so loved the world." Are you in the world? [Let them answer.] Then what does this verse say about God and you? [Let them answer.] These are the words of Jesus, who is the Son of God. He knows God better than anyone, and He is telling us the truth about God and you.
God showed us His love in a particular way: "that he gave his one and only Son." This is speaking of Jesus dying on the cross. [Talk about why He did this.]
Jesus' death, burial and resurrection set up God's plan for us, to give us a free gift by faith: "that whoever believes in him." Not, that whoever goes to church, or, whoever tries harder, or whoever devotes himself to religion, or whoever is really a good person. No, but whoever believes in him."
If we believe in him, what happens with us? We "shall not perish but have eternal life." Eternal life is knowing God at work in your life as a real person who cares for you. All of us have sinned, and that separates us from God and a relationship with Him. Do you want this free gift of eternal life? Share how to receive Christ.]
What are some of the names of Jesus?
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:23
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him "Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
What did Jesus do for us and why?
Isaiah 53:3-9
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
What does it mean to be born again?
Will Jesus ever come back to earth?
John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Revelation 1:7
Look, "he is coming with the clouds," and "every eye will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth "will mourn because of him." So shall it be! Amen.
Who can enter Heaven and how?
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Matthew 10:32-33
Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
Revelation 7:14-15
And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
Why did Jesus have to die?
Romans 3:23-25
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood--to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Why do we need saving according to the Bible?
Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
Romans 3:9-12
What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.
As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Romans 3:19-20
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned--every one--to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Why is Jesus called the "Lamb of God?"
John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
1 Peter 1:18-19
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Leviticus 4:32-33 (for background)
If someone brings a lamb as their sin offering, they are to bring a female without defect. They are to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it for a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.
Why is sin such a big deal to God?
Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
James 1:14-15
but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 1:5
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

Encouraging Verses for the Gospel Worker
Matt. 1:21
“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Our visitors have many problems; we bring people to Jesus for the sin problem.
Matt. 1:23
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” [Isa. 7:14] which is translated, “God with us.”
Let's give our testimony showing that God has been "with us." Many people can't relate to this experience of a changed life and answered prayer.
Matt. 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Let's not forget to tell them to repent.
Matt. 4:19
Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Our part is to follow Jesus and leave the work to Jesus to form us to do the work of evangelists.
Matt. 5:12
“Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
The work will not always be pleasant, but the reward will never end.
Matt. 5:16
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
We work for His glory, not ours. Let us reflect the image of God, His mercy and love, as we share.
Matt. 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
We can pray for the gospel work with expectation that the Lord will work.
Matt. 7:21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."
We might need to warn them of easy-believism. They need to know what "Lord" really implies. He is in charge, not us.
Matt. 8:3
Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
We came to Jesus and found Him willing to forgive all sins, too.
Matt. 9:2, 7
Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” And he [the formerly paralyzed] arose and departed to his house.
Jesus delivers us from the devastating effects of sin--by forgiving them and breaking their power over us. Jesus frees us where laws and self-effort have accomplished nothing.
Matt. 9:13
“But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ [Hosea 6:6] For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Jesus calls us to a changed life. His foundational work on the cross set us up to be victorious over sin, to willingly stand against it.
Matt. 9:37-38
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
A promise for the gospel worker. Will you pray and get involved?
Matt. 10:1
And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
A promise for the gospel worker. You have more resources in Christ than you thought.

A direction for the gospel worker. We're not waiting for heaven to come. It's here.
Matt. 10:32
“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven."
A promise for the gospel worker. Stand firm in your faith in Christ!
Matt. 11:28-30
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
A promise for the gospel worker. It is easy when we love the Savior and want to serve Him. He provides grace.
Matt. 12:21
And in His name Gentiles will trust [Isa. 42:1-4].
The gospel is not limited to a particular race or people group.
Matt. 13:11-12
He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."
A promise for the gospel worker. Keep working and learning, and the Lord will add to it.
Matt. 13:57
So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”
As Jesus was, the gospel worker will be rejected sometimes.
Matt. 14:17-18
And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to Me.”
The gospel worker is to bring them to Jesus for whatever they lack.
Matt. 14:27
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
When the storms come, preach the gospel of Christ to yourself and be recovered.
Matt. 15:18
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man."
The precious gospel is God's only tool to cleanse and renew the heart to eternal life.
Matt. 16:17
Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."
Ponder Jesus in the Word, and let the Father show you His glory.

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."
Your gospel work is part of Jesus' work of building His church.
Matt. 16:25
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."
When we give up our old life to serve Jesus, we find new life in Christ.
Matt. 16:27
“For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."

Jesus' goal is our goal. Don't let the enemy distract us from bringing them to the Savior.
Matt. 19:18
And Jesus said, "You shall not commit murder; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness"
Jesus used the law to show the high standard of what is good. Matt. 5:21-30 shows that the law is a matter of the heart, not only outward. Use the law to show they are sinners in need of a Savior.
Matt. 19:26
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Man cannot save himself. God can do it when you share the gospel.
Matt. 19:29
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life."
The Lord will richly reward those who part from their family members for a time to spread the gospel.
Matt. 20:19
“and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”
The news that was so difficult for the early disciples to bear is our joy to share on this side of the resurrection.
Matt. 20:28
“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
That ransom was paid on the cross when Jesus said, "It is finished." So we come to serve Him in gratitude.
Matt. 21:22
“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
What prayers for the gospel work can you believe the Lord for?
Matt. 21:32
"For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him."
Jesus reaches the outcasts. Let's not avoid them.

Matt. 23:11-12
"But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
The proper attitude of the gospel worker: humility. We too needed to be saved.
Matt. 27:43
"He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
People say Jesus never claimed to be God. Listen to His enemies; they knew exactly what He said. See His enemy's words in Matt. 9:1-8, John 5:18, John 10:33, all testifying to His claims of deity.
Matt. 27:46
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
On the cross, Jesus felt the agony people have of God deserting them during their prolonged trials. God joined us in our sufferings and identifies with our pains, having experienced them Himself.
Matt. 27:50
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
The plan of God to save us from sin and Satan mentioned in the Garden of Eden came to pass in spite of thousands of years of Satan's efforts to stop it. No one will stop the Son's return to claim His eternal throne, either.
Matt. 27:51
Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
Sin had shut the door to God. With the veil to God's mercy seat torn aside, we have the freedom to approach God as children to their Father. Let's invite others into this privilege.
Matt. 28:6
"He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
The open tomb invites us to see what all of man's schemes could not do: Jesus rose from the dead and destroyed the power of death. Only the gospel, the power of God, can set its captives free. Remind your hearers of this.
Matt. 28:18
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."
Our authority to share the gospel comes from the Creator of the worlds, the King of Kings, Ruler of all. He authorizes the gospel work; He opens the doors of opportunity.
Matt. 28:19
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
Sharing the gospel is one link in the chain of the discipleship process. National boundaries don't restrict this work, only the leading of the Spirit.
Matt. 28:20
"teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Christ is with us always, so we'll always have vast riches of grace to draw from for the work wherever we go.
Acts 1:8
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
We will receive power to witness of the Risen One in character and words, power and wisdom, wherever He sends us.
Acts 2:21
"And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved" [Joel 2:28-32]
This prophecy spoken hundreds of years ago is being fulfilled by your life now as you proclaim the gospel story, calling on the Lord.
Acts 2:27
For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption [Psalm 16:8-11].
Jesus was raised the third day, just short enough for His corpse not to decay. Proclaim the resurrection that was foretold of the Son of God.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
The benefits of believing the gospel are more than any other gift we can give them.
Acts 4:12
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
No other name given. No other name needed. Jesus Christ is all we need for sins forgiven and reunion with God.
Acts 4:19-20
But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."
Tell them what Christ has done in your life. Give them your testimony of a changed life.
Acts 4:33
And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.
This is what the Lord does with His storehouse of energy. "Here I am, Lord Jesus, use me."
Acts 8:38
Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.
As we see by the gospel wheel, we can steer people to Christ from many places in the Bible.
Acts 13:47
"For so the Lord has commanded us: 'I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth' [Isa. 42:6-7; 49:6]"
God intended the Jews' relationship to God would produce blessings that would draw the surrounding nations to Him. Your relationship with God of joy and peace will be seen in your witness.
Acts 14:22
strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God."
Sharing the gospel will not always be comfortable. Continuing in hardship strengthens faith and experience to help us share with conviction.
Acts 16:30-31
And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
When they are convicted and asking, tell them the simple truth of faith in Christ.
Acts 17:3
explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ."
We can't save ourselves. As our substitute sacrifice, Christ had to suffer death and rise from the dead to deliver us. See the next verse, below.
Acts 17:31
"because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
Christ's resurrection set His death apart from all other peoples' deaths. It means God has chosen Him alone to save us or condemn us.
Acts 20:21
"testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."
Remember to preach repentance as well as faith. Faith leads to repentance. Repentance demonstrates faith.
Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, "What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."
If we don't feel this depth of commitment now, we can encourage the Spirit to complete this dedication in us.
Acts 23:11
But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, "Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome."
Paul's recent witnessing was a disaster that landed him in jail. What may look like defeat to us looks like faithfulness to the Lord.
Acts 26:18
'to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'
All of this begins with responding to the gospel. What a mighty work we are engaged in!
Acts 26:19
"Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision"
Re-read the previous verse and ask the Lord to make that magnificent heavenly vision grow on you. Find a reason to be faithful.
Matt. 5:44
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
Matt. 6:7-9
7) And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8) Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9) Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Matt. 7:7-8

Matt. 17:19-21
19) Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20) He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. 21) But this kind never comes out except by prayer and fasting.”
Matt. 18:19-20
19) Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20) For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Matt. 21:21-22
21) And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. 22) And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Luke 11:9-13
9) And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10) For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11) What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12) or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13) If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
Luke 18:1, 7-8
[This is in an end-times context, for the previous verses are about the end times.]
1) And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. 7) And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8) I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

You spoke with your mouth, and with your hand have fulfilled it this day. 25) Now therefore, O LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’ 26) Now therefore, O God of Israel, let your word be confirmed, which you have spoken to your servant David my father.

Would you not be angry with us until you consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape? 15) O LORD, the God of Israel, you are just, for we are left a remnant that has escaped, as it is today.
